Vile is a graphic novel tells the early parts of David Cronenberg’s younger life and career. His style and messages displayed were controversial and almost cost him his career. The few pages depicted here are chilling and contain some disturbing yet fascinating visuals. All illustrations were hand done following the graphic style of renowned horror mangaka Junji Ito.

Development
The development for this project was a bit all over the place at first. I had the idea before I had how I wanted it to look. The initial sketches exxperimented with layout and how to order the boxes. Next, was a style test that I had nailed on the first try along with more layout tests. Finally, I need to set up the line work in order to ink the rest of it.
